Radiant heat, in plain English
Large area, low wattage,gentle heat.
Most conventional heaters warm the air, and the air warms you. A radiant panel works more like sunlight: most of its warmth goes directly to the people, objects and surfaces in the room.
Rather than one small, hot object, GLO Surface spreads warmth across a larger, lower temperature surface.
The heating becomes part of the wall, floor or purpose-built panel. The surface can then be kept simple or finished as a decorative piece.
The layers
What is hidden inside.

Hand-finished surface
Plaster, mineral finishes, carving or metallic detail. This is the surface you see and touch.

Base coats
Successive coats build depth and prepare the surface for its final finish.

Substrate
The stable board or wall build-up supports the finished surface.

Heating element
A carbon-based element within laminated material, with copper conductors along its edges.

GLO Surface places the elements into the planned wall or panel. Multiple elements can be connected across a larger surface.

Build-up
The heating is incorporated into the wall or panel construction before the visible surface is applied.

The layers above are prepared for the chosen plaster or mineral finish.

Finish
Josef applies the final finish by hand, from a quiet surface to a sculpted piece.
GLO Surface installs the heating as part of the surface work. A qualified electrician carries out the final electrical connection; the finished installation can be controlled with a thermostat, including wireless or Wi-Fi options.

Commissions
Bespoke size, shape and finish, with the output matched to the room.
Heated walls
Heating film built into new or existing walls, then finished in plaster.
